I was looking for a upgrade on television for long as all this while i was using a Videocon Hurricane 24 inch LCD which i brought in 2011.

I got this offer from Flipcart under exchange offer where they offered me Rs. 6000/- for my old TV and net amount which i had to pay to flipcart for this monster was R. 28.50 K that too under free EMI of 12 months where in i had to just pay 2.5k now and remaining in 12 interest free instalment.

Video Review

Before purchasing i did some research & read several reviews of people i was surprised with the positivity i got from the review. I believe electronics & mobile are rapidly changing & evolving. Thus the life of a TV or mobile is no more than 3 to 4 years before you upgrade. I thought this would be value for money. Plus it has all necessary connectivity option & ports which is required for connecting all the devices.

Though this is not a smart TV but once i connect my Laptop it becomes a smart TV plus i also plan to purchase a google chromecast which will resolve the problem.

I might be getting delivery of this TV by tomorrow or by Monday post which i will post some snaps & review of the TV.


I would like to mention about my old Videocon Hurricane 24 that it was an excellent companion in 4 years i did not had to spend a single penny on maintenance & i was extremely satisfied with the performance


Last but not the least i believe in Indian brands & now it has a new slogan too “Make In India”

Anirudha it has a standard warranty of 1 year ....i really hope i do not have to use the warranty ....and the product should last for time to come

Definitely you needs lots of luck then basically 1 year warranty that too with Micromax

I still believe Videocon is the best option as yourself used it for last 4 years. I was long term relationship with them we're using Videocon TV products from more than 2 decades and no issue at all with them. Recently I bought 32 inch LED with 5 years warranty.

Ya i understand the risk involved .... but i thought even if the LCD last for 2 to 3 years it would be worth the spend... i saw other popular brands like LG, Sony, Samsung are offering 1 year warranty.. and more over these days no one manufactures TV all companies assembles the TV with little bit of customization .... Miccromax has a TV assembling unit at Rudrapur& their corporate office is Gurgaon barely 3 KM from my office.... so i am always reachable to make my complain heard if required .... I hope i really do not need to do that though.

I thought that Micromax would be giving 2-3 yrs warranty with TV products. But only one yr warranty is not attractive enough, considering brand image & competition.
Videocon gives upto 5 yrs warranty & also 1 yr D2H full HD service free with certain TV models. Also brands like Mitashi also gives upto 3 yrs warranty.
So something more is required from Micromax............
