I would always go with having 1 Digital Cable connection and 1 DTH Connection. Digital Cable gives so many good local, International and other channels which DTH never gives. Plus love the Local Movie Channels on Digital Cable, they show some great movies considering that Star Gold, movies OK, Zee Cinema, And Pictures, Sony Max, UTV Movies either show flop hindi movies or repeat movies zillion times or air dubbed south indian movies

We need a price war in DTH and this is the time to do it. Cable bills are rising thanks to DAS. If a Dish tv or d2h can slice their annual subscription to 5k, a lot of cable users paying 3.5-4k odd will be ready to jump ship.

If you are an SD user, you can enjoy all the channels on Videocon d2h at Rs. 5100 a year.
And if you are an HD user in South you can enjoy all SD+HD channels at Rs.6600 a year.

Except premium and VOD channels.

Forgot to mention, talking of HD. Currently for Hathway HD, I'm paying Rs. 5200 and this is minus even the Star Sports SD and HD channels. I'm paying a la carte Rs 20 pm per channel for each SS SD channel depending on need.

Thus one more channel bites the dust..Seems the number of TV channels in all genres has reached a saturation point in India.
With unparallel distribution between DTH and Digital Cable industry it has got to happen. While Digital Cable users enjoy all the SD channels of Diamond or Platinum packs in just Rs.220-230 p.m. DTH operators charge Rs.400+ for it.
