Discussion Digital Cable TV Vs DTH

Previously I was supported Digital cable for various reasons but now I strictly support DTH and it is my self experience.

Also yes during storms and heavy winds the cables do get cut, but in many areas, fibre optic is underground, and cable too is now underground like telephone cables and electricity cables.

Not in many places, these undergrounds schemes are very costly enough.

It's a discussion thread. Add your view regarding MSO and DTH that why you like DTH over MSO.

I have a TV connected to an inverter. But my cable operator does not provide backup.

In fact till a couple of months back, our area and Hathway central areas had different power cut timings. So, we basically had no TV for 8 hours daily. Complaints had no bearing on Hathway.

Prices are now equals to DTH bit difference according to Taxes also not every MSO add new channels first, it depends on the planning and working of particular MSO.

If Cable can address the issues of power back up as well as the issues with Star, Zee, etc that Hathway has been having, nothing better than cable, since the same cable can be used to provide broadband also. Triple play is possible.

But as on date.. DTH wins hands down.

I prefer DTH because when I have issues I know that I am dealing with professionals and my issue will be resolved in a gentleman way which has always happened.

Whereas when I was using Hathway, I used to wait on the mercy of LCO person desire and availability to sort that issue.

Also the kind of VAS and PPV dth provide seems to be a distant dream for MSOs.
