Well The customers must see the MRP on the STB and then pay, also while filling the CAF form they must see that they pay the price that is printed on the form for the packages

I don't think so MRP would be printed on STB. Also, do you think customers are filling CAF form, most of them are giving ID & Address proof to local LCO guy and he is taking care of filling the form

Now Deepu bro, Sanjeev and Technoglitch how HITS will work and what benefits will MSO/LCO and Customers will have ??

HITS (headend in the sky) is the next version of digital cable TV, Its a hybrid version where national MSO will uplink their channels to a satellite just like how broadcasters and DTH do. Local MSO will have to downlink these channels at their headend and rest all is same, signals will come through cables and STB will be connected to them.

Advantages is the LCN No od all channels will be same across India with some slots vacant for local channels. MSO will be using same large dishes as they do now, so no rain issues

But I feel HITS wont be that popular now, may be after 10 years, and only big national MSO can use this services who have presence in most of the states.

Rural parts of Bangalore. In the name of digitization, LCO's are looting innocent people by charging huge amount for STB
In my area's LCO first took the full amount tat is 1200 + Tax then after 2 - 3 weeks he gave Chinese STB then something happened he contracted with Hathway and then replaced the box again. Tat time many users opt DTH and those who didn't keep on tracking LCO for the connection.

Same thing happened to my area LCO demanded the documents and amount and said it his tension to do. Same funda applies when you purchase sim from local shops.

Well DTH and Digital cable having their own benefits and drawbacks.in DTH we can get good channels even at remote locations also with good quality where Digital cable could not give them.but in cities where Digital cable fully established I must say there is no way comparison with DTH to Digital cable.Digital cable is clear winner.will get wide verity channels with less amount and we can get so many local channels which can gives movies, music in HD. lot of international channels we can see with in less amount.I am customer of DTH as well as Digital cable my vote is Digital cable only but conditions apply.(If you are in big cities where digital cable fully established).

HITS was supposed to be in active couple of years back but still it is in paper work as of now.
