Foolish thing to do, what if there is a lower middle class or poor customer in bid city. Why should he pay more? I guess the Dish TV head does not know that Cable Operators charge diff rates from people of different economic backgrounds in same area, there is no fixed rate. My Cable Operator takes Rs. 50 from poor customers and Rs. 100 from people of village plus he charges Rs. 270 from middle class families

As Anirudha bro already said, its better to focus on Zing rather than doing all these things...........
May be DIshtv is hoping that other DTH would also jump into this & then there would be no market challenge as such.

Or if interested only in increasing ARPU then change packages so that Hindi channels would be available only from mid-tier pack onwards.........as already envisaged by Star................by forming cartel with other DTH & taking help from STAR............;)

I think Zing Digital should now concentrate on SD packs and dishtv should stop providing SD packs better they merged HD channels with SD packs. In this case starter pack will start from Rs. 300 + it will benefit HD users too who want low cost HD package and SD users can opt Zing Digital to get the low price packages.

I think they have increased pack prices only for cities where digitization is maximum...............Not included Chennai, may be because analogue is prevalent.........

I don't think they even have a dare to charge something extra from Tamil Nadu or any other South state.
