All through Tata Sky has been telling customers that they did not get space/bandwidth from ISRO but now the truth has been exposed by CAG. Tata Sky was offered bandwidth by ISRO from GSAT10 but they declined taking it. Read this

As i have said for many years now that reality is that Tata Sky does not have intention to add new channels or add transponders, now the rabbit has come out of the hole and TATA SKY IS EXPOSED.

This part is really interesting and eye opening .

The "certain benefits" which were not extended to other DTH service providers were having an open ended commitment for satellite capacity with the provision for additional transponder capacity whereas in other agreement, the commitment for satellite capacity was for the period of lease only, the report said.

Tata Sky also had the provision for inspection of its earth station by DoS. This facility was also not extended to other service providers, the CAG said.

"DoS launched GSAT 10 satellite in order to swap with capacity allocated to Tata Sky on INSAT 4A, which was functioning with reduced power.

"Tata Sky subsequently declined the proposal but DoS did not allocate capacity on GSAT 10 to any other service provider apprehending litigation, as Tata Sky was given exclusive first right of refusal on Ku Band capacity of INSAT 4A satellite," the report said.

Apart from many objections, the report said, the chairman of the Tata Group was one of the "non-functional directors" in the board of directors of Antrix.

Bro, i have been saying this for 3 years now that Tata Sky is just lying and giving excuses of not adding channels and now i am very happy that CAG has exposed their lies. Th real point is that they could have easily got GSAT 10 Transponders but they declined it and same way they are not completing MPEG4 Migration and giving all lies to customers that we don't have bandwidth. They also had the option to move to a Foreign Satellite like Airtel did but they didn't even do that bcoz they just wanna invest less, make excuses and earn big bucks. I am very happy that truth is out and now their real face is out to see for the public

Its not arrogance its about benefits less channels and more subscription fee is the reason of success.
