HELP DTH for Society of 55 Flats

Dear Members,

i would like to take some advice from members with regards to the installation of DTH facility for our new society of 55 flats. Different house owners may have different choice of DTH operators, and as far as I know the Satellite Dish Equipment will be provided by the DTH Operator and whichever Operator provides the Satellite Equipment they will try to authorize monopoly over the Society. So is there any option for Builder to invest his money in a big satellite dish with LNB which will cover atleast 3 DTH operators and then route the cabling to 55 houses. I know that Dish TV and DD (free DTH) use the same satellite and their positions are very near / close. What other satellites could be covered by a single Dish. IF you could provide a solution we can ask our Builder to install his own dish with LNB and route cabling to all houses. Then as per choice of DTH we just need to buy the set top box of the DTH company and it would be plug and play for us.

What are your suggestions on this.

no. that's not how MDU works. you have to deal with a specific DTH provider and he will install everything in your building. after that all users will be bound to use that operator services only.
