I am more happy about this :

DTH operators shall cater for free maintenance and repairs of CPEs for three years after installation/activation. In case of outright purchase and hire purchase schemes, DTH operators may levy visitation charges not exceeding Rs 250 per visit after the warranty period has elapsed.

Subscribers shall have an option of buy-back/refund for CPEs in all the offered schemes. In case of rental schemes, subscriber will get back the security deposit.

This is a big setback to all such operators like d2h whose product and software are not upto the mark and keep earning money from users for their product and software failure.

Couple of question on this scheme, I bought dishtv 5 years ago at say price of Rs. 3000 then I upgraded to Rs. 990 dish + box then now recently I bought dish tru HD + box for Rs. 599 so if return my box then how much refund I will get ?

Also I have to Rs. 250 for service will they will no longer charge service tax extra ? or if Tax is inclusive then whats the guarantee that this Rs. 250 amount will remain forever ?

Also how I will moved to other company by purchasing the new connection from dealer ? Then how it is known as Portability ?

Also, this one is brilliant

DTH operators shall set-up headquarters to enable easy collection centres at every district for return of CPEs. Subscribers shall be provided with a toll-free telephone number for registration of request for surrender of connection.

Subscribers shall have the option of returning the CPE by paying a nominal collection charge of Rs 300 to the DTH operator. They can also return the CPE at the designated collection centre.
