Tremors were felt in parts of North India as a mild earthquake hit Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. The epicentre of the earthquake, measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale, was the border of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. "A tremor measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale was recorded at 12.27 PM today," an official of the MET office said. He said the epicentre of the earthquake was Baderwah area of the state and located 10 km deep. Tremors were felt around from 12:27 pm to 12:34 pm, officials said.
