Zuckerberg Deletes Facebook Post Showing Distorted Map of India
It was Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's birthday yesterday, but he didn't get much love from Indians. After outrage that he posted an infographic on Facebook which features a map of India without Jammu and Kashmir, Zuckerberg removed the post.
However, he hasn't responded to the controversy surrounding the post.
Mr Zuckerberg posted the infographic on May 13 announcing the launch of Internet.org in Malawi, Africa. It shows countries where Facebook's initiative has been launched.
"With this launch, Internet.org is now available to more than 1 billion people around the world!" he posted.
Angry Indians did not take long to spot his error and informed him in many comments, each endorsed with likes by many more people.
"Great Job, Please correct the Indian MAP on this Picture, Kashmir is Missing," pointed out Akhil Dev. His comment has almost 2500 likes and over 350 replies.
