Nope. It is clearly mentioned. Anthem played in theatres are not part of the movie. They are played through separate reels.

Since to avoid this disrespect movie halls in TN and Pondicherry don't play anthem other than news reel and awareness short films.

Also per Indian constitution there is no rule that we need to stand for national anthem. Even MHA has given remission.
these are all bawaas things. even in mine school days if one cudn't stand he used to be punished.
If the home ministry orders are indeed binding, what is the punishment for violating them? After all, nowhere is it said that sitting amounts to disrespect, so you can't be charged with disrespecting the national anthem! Which Act lays down the penalty for violating these dubious "orders"?
