Another thing, on why the STB looks so dirty and old with scratches ???

In 2011 I got this as a replacement to Cisco STB. In 2013 this STB started to give issues and problems, as the MSO had stopped issuing these STB since that time LCO couldn't give me a replacement. But later on there was a spare one which was being used at the headend, and the LCO got that and replaced.

It's doesn't matter how it looks from outside. If internal hardware if strong then nothing to worry about

Bro, all those who had replaced their STB in 2011 and who applied for new connection in 2011-12 were getting signals in this old STB. From 2013 company stopped issuing these STB, and even replacement was not available.

Those who wanted STB from 2013-15 didn't get as company had stopped issuing this old STB. They had to watch TV in analoge.

The company stopped issuing as old STB it is not compatible with DAS. This year onwards they are replacing this old STB with a new model that supports DAS/Digitization.
