For that you need two wires from LNB to watch one channel and other at recording. But you can record and view another channel present on the same TP.

But technically it is possible to do both simultaneously. I was also a STB developer few years back. But I was working in IPTV domain.

Nope, stb needs two input for recording and watching simultaneously.
