News Filmmaker Pahlaj Nihalani to be new Censor Board chief, 9 new members appointed

Filmmaker Pahlaj Nihalani has been appointed as new chairperson of Central Board of film Certification (CBFC). This comes after previous CBFC chief Leela Samson resigned last week from the top post in the panel citing interference and corruption in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.

Newly appointed Censor Board chief Nihalani said he will do his job without any controversy and he also said that there was nothing wrong in the way 'MSG - Messenger of God' was cleared by appellate Tribunal.

Nine other members of CBFC had resigned from their posts alleging interference from the government.

Don't know why it took so many days.......NDA should have followed UPA's footprints for these appointments.......

I don't know why Modi govt didn't act in the case of PK.........Govt should have pressurize censor board or court to ban the film.........

But there was no strong reason to ban PK movie I think the movie was fine and it was not hurting any religious sentiments

Then what is the wrong to ban MSG ?? if MSG gave wrong message then why not PK, is it because Aamir Khan acted on it ?? Is it questioning on Hindu religion's blind faith ?? If tats the case the Aaj Tak and Headlines Today should ban first, twice and thrice they took a paid interview of Ram Rahim.

But censor board is having some problem with some scenes so they were not releasing the film and that has not happened with PK movie
