MUMBAI:Star Protection, a company started by former Mumbai Police officers, has filed an FIR against Malegaon-based Central Cinema for screening the movie ‘Great Grand Masti’ on 6 and 7 July without valid permission from Balaji Motion Pictures.
The FIR was lodged at Malegaon Citty Police station under Sections 51 and 63 of Copyright Act on 13 July against the management of theatre and its operator.
Incidentally, the release of ‘Masti’ was changed from 22 July to 15 July due to online piracy.
After receiving the information, the police immediately raided and seized one LG video player, one Videocon TV, one Soni projector, one SanDisk pen drive and two remote controls from the projector room of Central Cinema.
Further investigation is underway.
