I don't think they make much money in such sales, they rather lose it. It's just to keep grabbing the market share. It had come down to Amazon vs. Flipkart. I feel Amazon will be a big success in long run because of their Amazon Prime membership. Flipkart has no video streaming service and they still charge ₹499 per year for free delivery service called 'Flipkart First'. Amazon on the other hand has free delivery and Prime Video for Prime members. And, since the launch of Amazon echo, Amazon music also might be around the corner. Flipkart has no such things to offer and they don't seem to working on it right now.
