I am not a public motivator nor do I give any inspirational speeches, never believed in any such things. But today I feel I need to say something, as this news has left me unsettled in so many ways.
The attack itself has made me lose all my hopes on the future of humanity. It disgusts me and saddens to hear of such things only awaiting when it would be me or anyone whose fate will be sealed by some madmen.
I personally know a few friends from LGBT community, I grew up and have been very close to people from different religions and communities. I have relatives and acquaintances living in countries like the U.S, Australia and also in conflicted zones that are not within the borders of our country, and now I am terrified for all of their lives.
My voice may not be heard or my opinions may not be valued, but something tells me that I should do this and speak my heart out about it. Following opinions aren't here to instigate anything or to point fingers at anyone, it is, however, just to understand why does such things happen when it happens.
I don't understand killing. A bomb attack or a gunfire at random. How could anyone let them happen? Killing in the name of anything is a shameful act! No matter what religion you practice or the faith you follow or the country that you live in believes otherwise.
If you believe in god and his laws then how do you question his other creations? How am I different from a person who was born in Karachi? How are you superior to someone who lives in Orlando and finds his love in something else he believes in? Why can't people in Ukraine have a family just like many others in Russia?
Are we not all the same but only with different qualities? We bleed when we are alive and stop breathing when we die, and in between how are we different from each other because we don't speak the same language or have a same skin color.
It is too late for those 50 or so lives that were lost today and many others in the past, but we may be able to stop such unfortunate things from happening by trying to understand each other better and never, ever to blindly judge anyone at anytime.
It is a request to all to make patience their virtue, and not to judge anyone for until you discover them.
Your sexuality, political party, your country, state or city, your religion, your caste is not your identity, it not what makes you you. There is more to you than your just association.
If you understand what I am trying to say, I only request you to be more aware and probably try to be more vocal about such sentiments. It may not be an effort that radically change everything, but perhaps one step closer in regaining our humanity back.
Thank you.
Prayers and thoughts to all the victims of any such hate-crimes in the past. Rest in Peace.
