Now im confused
As far as i know a new channel has to pay an amount to be transmitted on a particular Mso or dth services incase of FTA channels and pay channels get revenue from subscribers. Acc to dino, how come the channels dont need to pay and it's vice versa? The indian broadcasters are crying out that high carriage fees is increasing the operational costs and slump in revenue, trp and so on.

ur facts make no sense, ask any person from the marketing department of media world
acc to ur logic star plus, zee tv all r apying carriage fee to so many cable and dth op for so many years, their businees model would have collasped long ago if they were working bu ur logic
carriage fee is only paid by a broacster if the channel approaches the dth or cable op to relay their channel, if the operator approaches the channel to get permission to relay their channel then no carriage fee clause is applied, in the later case only deal is negotiated abt price of the channel and how much share the ch will get and how much operator would get
like if i launch a channel and it is not popular and noone is demanding it so i will approach my list of operators on whose platform i want the channel to relay and will work out a 6 month or 1 yesr contract where i will pay carriage fee to that operator so that the operator has to relay my ch on their platform for that time. now say after 1 yesr my channel bcomes popular then there is no need for me to pay carriage fee, now my channel will run on operator;s platform bcoz of popularity and the operator cannot remove it as the customer is demanding it and other operators too will add it just bcoz customers r demanding it and will spproach me to work pricing of the channel and the share that myself and operator would get out of that price per customer(sometimes the deas r worked on a whole some amount and not on per subscriber, like i can say that i should get 1 crore per yesr irrespective of no. of customers)
if a new dth service is launched, aaj tak, star plus abp news or loads of other popular chs will not offera penny as carriage fee to that dth operator as those chs r bound to b a part of any platform as that is dependent on customer demand

Your logics doesn't apply in real life. You have made your own philosophy and unnecessarily arguing on it.

Every news and music channel has to pay carriage fee irrespective of its launch date. Even FTA channels have to pay carriage fee. Paid channels like zee, star plus, Sony, discovery never pay carriage fee. Discovery is not paying carriage fee from day 1.

Food food is still paying carriage fee. And all this information is not for you Dino bhai but for other members because you will never accept the truth and keep arguing on your logic even if it's wrong

@Dino What ur saying is some what correct but ur logic is noway applicable to FOOD FOOD channel. It is no way popular and many more popular channels waiting to add in all DTHs but the space problem is having in almost all the DTHs.So There is noway to approach to Food Food channel.
