News Former Arunachal CM Files Fresh Plea In Supreme Court Against President’s Rule

The promulgation of President’s rule inArunachal Pradesh came under theSupreme Court’s scanner, which has sought Governor JP Rajkhowa’s report for recommending central rule in the state.

Meanwhile, Tuki and his ministerial colleagues were dismissed with immediate effect by the Governor. Also, all political appointments made by the CM stand terminated, as stated in an official memorandum.

The Governor also directed the chief secretary to immediately seal the offices of the former chief minister, ministers and parliamentary secretaries and to ensure that all government files, documents are taken in safe custody.

Rajkhowa, based on whose report the Union Cabinet decided to impose President’s Rule in the state, also asked the chief secretary to take into custody all official vehicles and office equipment retained with the former chief minister, ministers and parliamentary secretaries.

The Governor said that he was assaulted by a minister when the former chief minister went to the Raj Bhawan to meet Rajkhowa. He is likely to file the report in a sealed envelope in the Supreme Court at around 2 pm. Rajkhowa has regularly been sending reports to the government on the deteriorating law and order situation in Arunachal Pradesh.
