Former President APJ Abdul Kalam was today admitted to a hospital in Shillong after he suddenly fell ill during a function.
Mr Kalam, 84, was rushed to a hospital, M Kharkrang, Superintendent of Police Khasi Hills, said.
Mr Kalam served as the 11th President on India from 2002 to 2007.
