Former Reliance Jio Wi-Fi head Pawan Yadav joins Airtel-Vodafone JV FireFly

Pawan S Yadav, former business head of Public Wi-Fi at Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio, has now joined FireFly Networks, an equal joint venture between Vodafone India and Bharti Airtel, as the vice president, according to his LinkedIn profile.

A query sent to FireFly went unanswered.

Yadav had left Jio after a stint of over two years in September last year. He was looking after the roll out of public Wi-Fi across the country, heading a team of 18-20 executives at Jio, ET Telecom earlier reported.

At Jio, Yadav was involved in the development of business plan and P&L for the public Wi-Fi business. He was also overseeing identification and management of alternate revenue monetization streams. Further, he was responsible for driving adoption of other Jio products through WiFi. He also drove development of customized internal Processes and Apps for WiFi business.

so is this the new JV between airtel and vodafone?

I think this JV is for there wireless broadband business not for Telecom one.

In Telcomm business airtel already said they will fight alone with Jio.... maybe we see Vodafone & Idea JV very soon.

This jv is few years old. They were the bidder for public WiFi in Delhi but that particular tender was challenged by jio in high court and hence it was suspended. Don't know what happened after that.
