5asec, the French dry-cleaning brand, has proposed to open 15 centres in various parts of the country by 2018.
Suresh Bhatia, Managing Director, SB Fabcare, the master franchise of 5asec, said that 95 per cent of the dry-cleaning market in India is in unorganised sector, while the market size of the remaining five per cent in the organised segment is estimated at ₹25-30,000 crore. With a focus on opening more outlets, the company is looking at garnering a major chunk of the business, he said.
Bhatia was here to open its first 2,000 sq ft concept showroom in Kochi on Saturday. The first 5asec store in the country was started in Mumbai in October 2010 followed by Bengaluru. It has 1,900 stores in 31 countries and around 1.5 lakh customers are visiting worldwide every day.
Pick up and home delivery and one hour counter delivery are major attractions for the customers. The technology used by the company has also been patented. The imported chemicals and durables used for cleaning help protection of clothes, he said.
