It depend upon company to company.
Many companies look forward to save infra costing and hence declare saturday as Holiday whereas some like mine still believes in screwing employees life. Hence make them work even in Saturday.
Pune is mostly comprising of IT companies and hence They work in a fashion similar to US and UK.

some companies would tell what you gonna do in weekends esp those in small cities and make 6 days as working day

Yeah. Some companies bosses also Feely they if the allow holiday on Saturday, they will be deprived from their favourite employees licking their arses.
