It's modern cause I don't think it's part of Indian culture. It's totally western !
That's quite advanced fasting. Eating less than appetite and eating less non - veg.
What kind of fasting is it ?
We actually fast from 9 to 5 and in between we can have sweets and water and after the sun sets we can break our fast. It is different from muslims ramzan fast. This is commonly called 'Purattasi' in TN.

You are young for this bro. Don't discuss about this topic. and yes what you are saying is still applicable at most of the places and family but now family members are opening within themselves. In mumbai, entire family including female drink and dine together.

He is very young timkamat bro. and what he is saying is true. Pls tone down . Also, the place from where he belong, Alcohol and tobacco are considered very bad infact sin which it actually is. There is nothing good to boast about being a smoker or alcoholic. isn't it ?
