Maybe somewhat same but not entirely same correct me if I am wrong coz in tata sky if you want a HD channel you will have to subscribe its SD channel too which I don't like personally

I think it isn't the same. As in d2h you can activate HD channels individually as an alacarte without HDAF, but in TataSky they offer both SD and HD version of a channel in alacarte as well because they have HDAF.

If you wanna opt for HD channels as an alacate in TataSky you have to pay HDAF, but not in d2h.

Ya i know that..But see i am in gold sports pack where i am not getting pix HD..So if i applied for HDAF policy i wont get pix HD...So rather than applying for pix HD whose price is obviously higher than SD...So can i opt for its SD version as a-la-carte & get HD for free (as TS)..

No, you won't. A-la-carte doesn't has any policy in effect as of now on Videocon d2h.
If you want to get both SD and HD, you will have to pay for the both.
