Friends, I have an economic kind of query...I have a surplus fund of Rs.1 lakh which has been kept in FD. Is there any way -other than FD-to get a better return?

Share are a risky business , I guess and it can only be done if you are well versed with the market trends.

It depends on the kind of risk you want to take. Investing in shares might give you better returns, but for that you need to have knowledge about stock markets and risk of losing your money is also high
