It depends on the kind of risk you want to take. Investing in shares might give you better returns, but for that you need to have knowledge about stock markets and risk of losing your money is also high

That's why I am not willing to take that risk.I have seen it happening to one of my relatives.

Even MF are not safe as they also invest in shares. If share market goes done, then MF's also goes down. To be on Safer side, stay with FD
