And 2mbps broadband is of 1700 rs.
Can anyone please explain why broadband in India is so incredibly expensive compared to western countries or even other asian countries ?

I think you want truely unlimited broadband plan...........just check all possibilities in your city......like ADSL+/cable/fibre/wireless 3g or 4g.................
But yes.....I think internet is very costly in India........
