I think this chap is mistaken. 4.94% or 5% now is fixed by the government. Government considers that the 30% of the cost of food is towards the preparation so that 30% is accounted for 4.94%.

Did you know the reason why they were turned away?

Because they haven't mentioned the reason for delay which is mandatory when it was announced. And the reason they mentioned were not satisfactory

It was clearly mentioned in first news related to this in TOI that the depositers were not able to give satisfactory details why they didn;t deposited in 50 days. Later on all secular media removed the reason part and picturing RBI and govt as anti-citizen.
