I had genuine Win 8. So was using win 8.1 preview from launch date.
However who was using 8.1 preview had only option to update to win 8.1 full launch version, i.e from Play store. On launch date when I have opened Play Store for 3rd time, I got a patch to download named as win 8.1 single language. It installs automatically after download. That download made my win 8.1 preview to win 8.1 full version.
But this has made me to loose all my apps, though all the data are safe.

You will get the link only if you are using Win 8.1 preview and that too you have updated from play store only.

@piinku I think you can update to win8.1. I also had win 8 single language and upgraded to win 8.1. It has some good features. App store looks good.
