Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma continues to stoke controversies, where now he says that girls who hang out at night is unacceptable in India.

"Girls wanting a night out may be all right elsewhere but it is not part of Indian culture," Sharma said in an interview to a private TV channel.

"Has there been any act of RSS against national interest? Then why criticize RSS? What is wrong in discussing national policy with RSS?" Mahesh Sharma added on his association with RSS.

He also spoke about the controversial meat ban in few states for a Jain festival that "Why is it wrong to ban meat for a few days if I want to respect some community? Don't we have bans during navratras, don't we have certain bans during Roza-Iftaaris? So what is wrong in respecting sentiments of a particular community? It is a small sacrifice for just two days."

Recently, he was in the news for another controversial statement where he said that A P J Abdul Kalam was a great nationalist despite being a Muslim. Opposition parties demanded his dismissal for "suspecting" the nationalism of 17 crore Indian Muslims.

Even if considered it correct then his comment is unfortunate in the era where Girls are working late nights and returning home too.
