That all might be all future plans bro. Still replacing or providing upgrade offer for STBs will be much much cheaper than acquiring transponders.

Also HEVC might be applied from HD channels then also its a good deal and burden will not comes to SD users.

New channel requirement will be there till the last permitted channel in India is added. They need to balance b/w revenue and popular channels

6 TPs of MPEG 4 ex. if they're adding 50 channels per TP then SD channels sum will be by 350 +
4 TPs of MPEG 4 ex. if they're adding 17 HD channels per TP then HD channels sum will be 68 HD channels does this much channels available in India ?
2 reserves for UHD TP with HEVC compression.

They still can add many more channels if broadcaster is ready to throw money rest 12 TPs as per their technology is complete enough only thing they was needed a stable SAT if they moved to GSAT 10 then this is one of the best decision they ever take and I support them.
