Yes maybe that's the reason. But JioTV needs to be run on LAN and not on WAN. I guess they are trying to avoid the mistakes airtel did with IPTV.

How to bypass this? When I click update, it takes me to playstore and there is no update.
Okay the thing is jio has not updated the app for android tv. After installing the latest apk available for mobile phones, sign in screen is presented and after signing in the app closes automatically. Jio cinema is not able to detect Internet connection. So in short they have blocked the apps to be used on Android box.

Patched Jio Play is not working from today..How to bypass this? When I click update, it takes me to playstore and there is no update.
