That is not ethical at all!
There is no update on there website too, they are still flaunting 24HD channels for 152/-
is it only for Hyderabad or for other Areas too?

No, there is no concept of compensation or extension in Hathway. Their application doesn't support anything of that sort. Whenever certain things were removed from the package I was subscribed to, I paid less to my cable operator to compensate for the channel removal
That is why I haven't gone for long term packaging in Hathway.

This is my current situation.
I'm still using the Old STB (Model No: HDC1000C). But the channel list is different than the one posted here. My list (similar to ashish777) has 237 TV channels (170 viewable and remaining 67 scrambled) and 69 Radio channels (most of those scrambled). Major difference is - Discovery Science, Turbo, History & KIX channels are not listed at all. Also, channel scanning is disabled now as I cannot scan through System setting and 'Channel Modify' pop-up notification doesn't give any result. All of this appears to be a blatant cheating of customers to make us buy the new STB.
So, are you getting a different digital signal on your STB or do you have the same situation as ours?
Another thing is, I'm using the STB provision for viewing Analog channels. In that all 75 Analog channels have the new 'Sonali Cable' watermark. Also, some channels which are scrambled on STB, are available in Analog (SIX, Star Sports 4 & Ten Cricket). So, it seems that my LCO is providing Digital from FDI and Analog from the new Sonali-Hathway group. Maybe Sonali Cable hasn't completely taken over FDI yet.
Regarding the New STB, I have requested my LCO weeks ago for a demo (as you know how the situation has been with the last 2 STBs). But, he probably won't do that. He is not sure about the functioning of the box, himself.
One more concern is, no HD channels in new STB. So, by next year they'll introduce another
STB.

First of all if u were FDI Subscriber since 2009-2010 and u were using the Cisco STB Model No DVB Z260, u would be knowing that it was a Hathway STB with a FDI Logo Brand. This means that Sonali Cable and Hathway have a tie up a Joint Venture and the company name is FDI.
Now coming to the old STB Model No HDC1000C, as you know that FDI didnt plan out their strategy well, after the end of Cisco STB they should have brought a better quality STB, but they chose this one and for 5 long years they kept giving this STB knowing that Digitisation is on the way. Now that the Govt has made this year end compulsory for MSO to go digital they have introduced a new STB with Smart Card system to facilitate DAS.
The old STB doesnt have a Smart Card nor the channel No are fixed due to STB software issues, so the company has decided to stop the old STB and to put an end to it as its not possible to go DAS with that STB. So all customers will have to buy the new model STB in order to continue, as in some months the old STB will be shut down and will become in compatible.
The new STB in better in many ways, its DAS ready with smart card. One has to fill the CAF form and submit ID proof to LCO. All channels will be available after activation, and th channels are in fixed position like how it was in Cisco STB. (They still have to fix many channels numbers, some are in wrong category).
There is no need to scan the new STB as like the Cisco STB its automatic. Also EPG is available and recording facility via USB will be provided upon future STB software updates.
Now what ur getting in anaolge is actually digital, the feed from the new STB. Yes the new STB has got fingerprinting and watermark logo on all channels. "FDI powered by Sonali Cable"
