Breaking News HBO Hits HD & HBO Defined HD Added

Are these two channels in 5.1 in Dish HD? I'm currently using basic cable and I thought about going with Airtel or Videocon DTH but both these new HBO channels in HD are a must for me. This is why I'm thinking of going with Dish TV. Is it worth it?

I don't think so as Movies Now is only available in DD. Well go through the package details of airtel and dishtv. Dishtv would be expensive in terms of HD and more over you don't get all HD channels in the highest pack. The addition of this channels would make it more expensive by Rs60.

Dish tv has the costliest HD packages and you wont get two HBO premium channels in the highest package after the free preview.

One more bitter truth is that we can not add HD top ups with any minimum pack.

We have to opt higher packs to get HD channels.

In other way they are forcing their customers to pay more to get HD channels.

As of now, Dish is the only provider that's offering it in HD. If Airtel/Videocon/TataSky had offered it too, I would have chosen one of them without thinking as their monthly costs are much cheaper than Dish.
I can go with Dish right now but it would really suck if one of those other providers offers it in HD too after a few weeks.

We'll be watching only CNBC, CNN IBN, CNN, HBO Defined & Hits, 2 or 3 telugu channels and Sony Six for IPL during the summer. Paying 500 r.s per month for 6-7 channels is too much. That's what is stopping me from going with DishTV. If we individually choose the channels with the other providers, it doesn't cross R.S 150 or so.
Justin, is HBO Defined in 5.1?

I did the same mistake earlier so dont do it.If ur sound consern(Forget about package) U should wait some more days. Airtel is already on the way to launch these 2 HD channels(Soon) so wait for some more days.By the way both HD channels giving in DD+ 5.1(confirmed on their FB page)on their broadcast end but Dish TV is not providing it as per Just In info.

I'm planning to choose a service provider in April. But I thought Airtel is giving the channels only in SD?
