In a bid to curb tobacco consumption, the Health Ministry has now formally proposed changes in anti-smoking law with a ban on sales of loose or single sticks of cigarettes.

The ministry sought to raise the fine on smoking in public places from Rs 200 to Rs 1000 as well as recommending removal of designated smoking zones in hotels and restaurants.

The ministry has also proposed raising the minimum age of those who can be sold tobacco products to 21 years from 18 years.

They should come up with plan to cure people who are addicted to smoking.

Nothing else will work. Whatever restriction they do, the one who is addicted will go to moon to smoke if smoking is banned on entire planet
