Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is probably going to be the first person in the world to get a bust sculpture made of human blood for her birthday. HU Husseini, an ardent fan of Jayalalithaa, has sculpted a statue from his own blood and the blood of his students.
The statue is made of 11 litres of blood, frozen at -27 degree Celsius. Husseini, an archery coach and founder of the Chennai-based Archery Association of Tamil Nadu, claims to have sacrificed 7.5 litres of his blood for sculpting the statue. “I collected and preserved 7.5 litres of my blood over a period of eight years,” he says, “but one litre was wasted in the process of sculpting the bust.”
