Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the telecom industry body representing GSM mobile phone companies has elected Idea Managing Director Himanshu Kapania to head as Chairman of COAI.
Himanshu Kapania has been selected as the new chairman at the Annual General Body Meeting which was held on 30th July 2012.
In addition to that, Marten Pieters, managing director and chief executive officer of Vodafone India has also been elected as the Vice-Chairman of COAI.
Present COAI chairman Sanjay Kapoor, chief executive officer Bharti Airtel's has stepped down after completing his tenure.
Himanshu Kapania hold over 25 years of experience in telecom and related industries whereas , Marten Pieters has been affiliated with Vodafone since February 2009 and holds over 3 decades of industry experience in international and domestic markets.
