Terming the encounter with security forces in which Hizbul commander Burhan Wani was killed as doubtful, social activist and Swaraj Abhiyan leader Prashant Bhushan said government of India should realise the fact that using the military force is not a solution to the Kashmir problem.
Swaraj Abhiyan leaders also warned saffron brigade against its alleged bid of making India a Hindu nation asking its leaders to take lesson from Sri Lanka. Another leader Yogendra Yadav alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is indirectly supporting Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's agenda of spreading communal hatred with beef, love Jehad and Ghar Vapsi issues
Prashant, along with Swaraj Abhiyan leaders, including Yogendra Yadav, Anand Kumar and Teesta Setalvad, was in the city on Saturday to kick off their campaign in UP to save the state from the alleged "bid of Rashtriya Sawayamsevak Sangh, BJP and SP to start communal polarization in state by fanning riots ahead of 2017 assembly polls".
Talking to reporters, Prashant said, whether the encounter, in which Wani was shown killed with his accomplices by the security forces was real or fake would become clear after proper investigation. But, he said, the government should try to search the root of the problem that is compelling Kashmiri youths like Wani to become terrorist. The government should also search ways other than military to solve the Kashmir problem, he added.
