Star India’s new advertising technology Star Adsharp, which can beam advertisements only to specific target markets, will help the company to expand its advertiser pool by attracting advertisers with smaller marketing budgets compared to the national advertisers. Star Adsharp will allow smaller brands to advertise on Star Plus and Star Gold to avoid wastage due to spillover. The advertisers will have to give a minimum advertisement commitment of a year which will ensure consistent exposure for the campaign throughout. Businesses that sign up for the Star TV Sales Expo programme, which is currently underway, will receive consistent ads appearing over one week of each month from September 2014 until August 2015. They will get rate protection for the entire contract period.
