It's simply like mobile, icon will not remove unless you read all messages

Many phones may not but otherwise reading message is mandatory to remove icon.

Well, try this one.. It worked for me.. When you click yellow button, go to service message and delete it.. You will get another message after some time. Repeat the process for 2-3 times and then the message will not appear.. You can only delete the service code message.
