Chinese telecoms gearmaker Huawei has moved Mumbai High Court following Videocon Group's refusal to respond to its legal notice for non-payment of nearly Rs 860 crore of contractual dues.
The dues claimed by Huawei relate to purchase of 2G network gear by Videocon's telecom unit from the Chinese vendor in July 2009 and subsequent delivery of project services.
The Huawei India spokesman confirmed the development and said the company would fully cooperate with the Mumbai High Court for an early resolution. "Huawei India has initiated legal proceedings (against Videocon) in Mumbai High Court for resolution of the matter.
