News Hyderabad: Over 200 people duped in credit card fraud rackets

A significant increase in the debit and credit fraud is being reported in Hyderabad. Cyber criminals have duped more than 200 persons in the first four months of 2015.

The police say most of these cases could have been prevented if people were more aware and alert.

Noorjahan, a victim of a fraud case, allegedly got a call from her bank in April asking her to renew her ATM card but when she refused, the caller told her that if she did not get it renewed, her card will be blocked.

Never share credit card details with anyone even company officials.

Even if you get calls claiming from bank(authentic too) just deny it and tell I'll do it when I visit the bank.

Yup. Someone called my brother for Credit limit enhancement and when i brother agreed, that fraudster asked credit card number and password.

My brother told him to tell his address as he will visit personally and he cut down the phone. This is one such trick they extract the credit card details

They target the people who has no idea and even some employees have no idea that they work for a fake companies.

Last week there was a news that some people were working in a company who thought it as a call center for a bank and procured the details to the boss who laundered the amount.

Even doing online shopping on random sites can lead to fruad from your credit card as they might steal the details.
