Idea today announced the availability of its 4G LTE services in 84 more towns of the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana telcom circle. With this Idea 4G has expanded to a total of 121 towns in the region.
In 102 out these 121 towns, Idea has also become the first operator to provide 4G LTE services. Idea's 4G LTE connectivity is available in the major towns of Anakapalli, Jadcherla, Ghatkesar and Ananthapur, in addition to the other major towns of Hyderabad, Mahaboobnagar, Nizamabad, Rajahmundry, Tirupathi, Vijayawada and Vizag, that were launched earlier.
The telco had recently introduced 4G LTE service across 10 towns of Goa. In addition to the major towns of Panaji, Margao, Vasco and Mapusa, the service has also been launched in Porvorim, Ponda, Calangute, Benaulim, Majorda, Verna and Goa Velha.
Idea intends to extend its 4G LTE services to an additional 50 towns/suburbs in Goa by end April. In Goa, Idea has 7.2 lakh consumers.
In total, Idea has rolled out 4G mobile services in 575 towns across 10 circles comprising 15 states in 100 days. The company, however, did not share the number of 4G customers it acquired but said it has a overall customer base of 125 million in these reported circles.
