Content aggregator IndiaCast Media Distribution has withdrawn its petition in the Telecom Disputes Settlement & Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) against Disney Broadcasting India. IndiaCast had filed a case against Disney India in the TDSAT for wrongful termination on 28 July. The tribunal, however, disqualified the case and asked IndiaCast to withdraw the case in 24 hours or it would dismiss it on 29 July. IndiaCast asked for an extension of another 24 hours to discuss. After some arguments, IndiaCast counsel today sought permission to withdraw the petition. The tribunal passed an order whereby the petition was dismissed as withdrawn. Meanwhile, Disney India has said that it has ended its agency contract with IndiaCast Media Distribution and that it has set up an internal team to manage the distribution of all eight of its channels, namely Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, Hungama TV, Bindass, Bindass PLAY, UTV Movies and UTV Action.
