An Indian foreign ministry spokesman denied any expulsion and said that transfers were routine decisions. Rajapaksa, voted out of office in the 8 January election, told Reuters he did not know all the facts while the new government in Colombo has said it is aware of the reports but cannot confirm them.

But several sources in both Colombo and New Delhi said India was asked to recall the agent in December for helping gather support for joint opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena after persuading him to ditch Rajapaksa’s cabinet.

A sketchy report in Sri Lanka’s Sunday Times newspaper on 28 December said that “links with the common opposition” had cost India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) station chief his job in Colombo.

Don't know how much it is possible........but there are other countries in the world like US & UK who wanted to see Rajapaksa’s defeat.....
Sri Lanka is having economic compulsions with respect to China....so it seems difficult that current president would change the path......

Modi knows that Srilanka is very important country and they have to make good relationship with them since because of Tamil parties protest, India not able to extend the relationship and Rajpaksha moved with our rivals China and Pak. Since TNA supporting Srisena and he's now moving forward on friendly relationship coming in official tour first it would be great to see the gesture between both country and now Indian Tamil parties too needs to understand the need of a time.

You got the facts wrong as the UN, US and some european countries imposed economic sanctions hence China under the pretext of helping had tried to interfere in the political as well as also pose a threat to the Indian sea route.

But what about that pain which they have given to Indian Tamilians how could we forget that
I think 70s Indian govt is responsible for all this......They have their own interests.....after all Indian Tamils & Sri Lankan Tamils are different nationals......
