Unnamed Rajasthan Royals player approached for IPL fixing, BCCI informed: report

It's hard to keep Indian Premier League and controversy separated. Barely two days into season eight of the IPL, reports of offers to fix matches have started emerging and once again it's Rajasthan Royals who find themselves in the news for all the wrong reasons.

According to a report in The Indian Express on Friday, a Rajasthan player, who hails from Mumbai, has been approached by his Ranji Trophy team-mate with a fixing offer. And with that disturbing news surfacing on the day of RR's opening match of IPL8, it's bound to create a stir in the Royals' camp.

The report also says that the said player informed a senior franchise official who related the development to BCCI's Anti Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) last month. The offer was to "follow a pre-decided pattern of play" in exchange of money.

The player who made the offer is not part of this year's IPL season.

When the IPL (Indiya ko thyoohar) started BCCI made statements that every team has one Corruption officer linked. Now home bookies are getting a way to approach players.
