Just got off the debate on Headlines Today on the CSK valuation issue. Disappointed with the way Rajdeep Sardesai went about the debate. After the clip on the story he introduces me and says "defending Mr.Srinivasan(and the valuation for CSK) on the show tonight we have Sumanth Raman from Chennai."

My reply: "Who told you I am here to defend Mr.Srinivasan? Did you or any one from your channel ask me beforehand what my point of view was?"

Once I put forth my opinion on how unacceptable the valuation was he quickly lost interest and ended the debate in less than 5 minutes after telling me how it was good that I was seeing reason.

Often the guest coordinators ask us for our views on the topic to be discussed to avoid too many people saying the same thing. Today no one from HT asked me beforehand. Yet he introduces me the way he did. Irritated...

I heard this in morning, what is this......

In January this year, the Supreme Court had ruled that BCCI officials had to pick between running cricket or owning teams. Since N Srinivasan was accused of conflict of interest, the court order prompted the transfer of CSK ownership. This led to the India Cements board vesting ownership of CSK to a wholly owned subsidiary in February this year.

Accordingly, IPL franchisee Chennai Super Kings was transferred to a subsidiary called Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd. India Cements Board decided that the subsidiary will be owned by existing shareholders on a proportionate basis. While 70 per cent of India Cements shares are held by public, promoters hold 28 per cent and N Srinivasan holds 0.14 per cent of the shares.

They sold CSK franchisee to their own subsidiary called Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd for 5 Lakhs
