The country loaded its first cargo of oil on February 14 in the wake of removal of sanctions on its nuclear program in January.
The first cargo contained four million barrels of oil which were shipped to France, Russia and Spain.
Commenting on the first delivery to European buyers, Javadi said on February 13 that France’s energy giant Total will take delivery of 2 million barrels and the rest will go to refiners in Spain and Russia.
Earlier this week, Iran's First Vice President Es'haq Jahangiri said the country’s oil exports have reached 1.3 million barrels per day (bpd), which will reach 1.5 million bpd by March, adding that Iran will be exporting 2 million bpd of oil in the next calendar year starting on March 21.
Iran is trying to rebuild its oil production with plans to boost output and exports by 1 million bpd this year. Supply deals were signed with Total and Hellenic Petroleum SA of Greece. Oil prices have dropped 11 percent this year, partly on anticipation of the increased supplies.
