NSTPL is getting ready to take on the dominant cable industry and DTH players with its JAINHITS, India’s first Direct to Network (DTN) service based on the HITS (Headend-In-The-Sky) technology.

The main attraction to the existing cable and DTH users will be a variety offerings such as triple play services including video, voice and data.

Last year, JAINHITS partnered with Motorola as its technology partner and Intelsat as its satellite partner.

JAINHITS will offer pan India cable service, delivering 200 – 500 digital channels (including SD & HD), broadband, Interactive TV, value added services and connected homes.

“With no ground presence, it is the only player with bulk Satellite capacity to launch HITS. No other suitable capacity is available for HITS before the pan India digitization deadline,” said a top official with JAINHITS.

JAINHITS is in the process of adding cable operators as its partners to spread its services across the country.

Its a HITS i.e Headend in the Sky. Bascially this kind of setup is useful for all those LCOs and MSO who don't have enough money to setup their own space setup.

HITS provides its service on rental basis. Cable operators will able to use Jain HITS to Uplinking-Downlinking their channels and content.
